MESA, Ariz. (Nov. 18, 2008) – For the third year in a row, Banner Heart Hospital recently was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® for cardiovascular care by Thomson-Reuters.
This prestigious annual award for cardiovascular services objectively measures performance on key criteria at the nation’s top performing acute-care hospitals. As the nation’s leading source of information products for the health care industry, Thomson-Reuters provides tools for health care managers to improve their organization's performance.
This is the third time in Banner Heart Hospital’s eight-year history that it has been recognized with this honor. It is one of only three hospitals in Maricopa County and in the state to receive this designation.
“This is indeed a credit to our committed employees, a partnership with our medical staff, and a culture that is focused on taking care of our patients,” says CEO John Harrington. “It is also a credit to the Banner organization for the support Banner Heart receives.”
Thomson Reuters bases its award on a wide set of measures:
Thomson Reuters reports that it is rare for a hospital to achieve national benchmark level performance every year.
